54th International Film Festival of India celebrates rich diversity of regional films

The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is not merely a convergence of global cinematic excellence; it is also a celebration of the rich diversity of regional films that emanate from the diverse corners of our nation.

In keeping with its cherished tradition of honoring regional cinema, IFFI has meticulously curated dedicated days for segmented screening of films from various languages of India. More from our correspondent:
                               
Regional films started rolling with a mesmerizing array of films from Eastern India in the Indian Panorama section yesterday. Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Manipuri, and various North Eastern dialects took center stage in this vibrant bouquet. Assamese film ‘Baruar Xongxar’, Mizo film ‘Mau:

The Spirit Dreams of Cheraw’, Odia movie ‘The Sea and Seven Villages’  and Bengali film ‘Ardhangini’ are some of the regional films that were screened yesterday at IFFI.

While a number of Tamil and Malayalam films will be screened today, tomorrow it’s the turn of Punjabi, Dogri, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Urdu, and Chattisgarhi movies. Konkani, Marathi, and Gujarati films will be shown on Saturday, while Kannada and Telugu on Sunday.
