Uttarakhand: Rescue operation to evacuate 41 workers trapped in Silkyara Tunnel

Rescue operation to evacuate 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand is underway. State-of-the-art machinery has been deployed by various agencies involved in the operation.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, inspected the incident site and assessed the relief and rescue operations.

Interacting with the press, Mr. Gadkari said that the government is working diligently to ensure the safe evacuation of workers.

He said that five agencies of the Central Government have been deployed. On the other hand, the administration is in contact with the workers and all are said to be safe.
