Shivsena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray party demands a special session of parliament over the Reservation issue in Maharashtra. Party delegation today held a meeting with President Draupadi Murmu requesting her to instruct the union government to call a special session of parliament.

In a letter submitted to the President, Party leaders said Maratha and Dhangar community members of the state are organizing protests for reservation. To provide reservation to these communities, a Constitutional amendment is necessary as the Reservation percentage in Maharashtra has already reached the level of 50%. To pass this amendment approval of parliament is necessary.

Accordingly, the party has demanded a special session of parliament. Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut, Former Union Minister and MP Arvind Sawant, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve were present among others.
