South Coast Railway Zone zonal headquarters to be set up in Visakhapatnam soon

The South Coast Railway Zone (SCoR) zonal headquarters is going to be set up in Visakhapatnam soon. BJP MP, GVL Narasimha Rao said, the railway board has issued orders assigning the Central Administrative Officer (Construction), Bhubaneswar to construct the building with a budget of 106 crores rupees.

He called on Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad and discussed various important issues related to the new railway zone and railway development yesterday.
 
GVL Narasimha Rao said, the zonal headquarters building was proposed to be constructed at Mudasarlova, in the city, adding that the state government agreed to provide 52-acre land in lieu of the railway land taken by it as a compensatory measure.

He however pointed out that the state government is inordinately delaying handing over of the land to the railways. The MP informed that as soon as the identified land is handed over to the railways, the construction process of the Visakhapatnam zonal headquarters will commence. @
