Hyderabad: Avishkar Junior College students gain valuable learning experience during visit to GITAM
Avishkar Junior College students, along with their faculty, had the opportunity to explore the world of quality education, research, and executive training during their visit to GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad. The visit, organized as part of GITAM’s Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) initiative, aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students and teaching faculty.
Divided into three teams, the 275 MPC students from Pragathi Nagar XII class were given the chance to explore various departments and facilities at GITAM on November 17, 2023. The Aero Club, G Electra, Mechanical Skill Development Centre, and Civil, Mechanical, and Aerospace labs were among the places visited by the students.
Prof. Rama Sastry Vedala, Dean of Core Engineering, provided an in-depth overview of the university and its diverse programs, with a deeper understanding of their respective departments and explaining the unique features and career prospects within each field. Prof. K. Manjunathachari, Deputy Director of the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE), extended gratitude through a vote of thanks. Additionally, hands-on experience activities were organized by Dr. Arif Mohammed Abdul, Dr. K. Praveen Kumar, and H. Ravi.
In addition to the department visits, the Science Department faculty organized a seminar on liberal education, shedding light on the importance of a well-rounded education and its impact on personal and professional growth.
The event was made possible through the efforts of Dr. K Shiva Kumar, Head Admissions at GITAM, Hyderabad, and N. Siva Mallikarjuna Rao, State Head, Telangana. Their dedication and commitment ensured the success of the visit, providing the students with a valuable and enriching learning experience.
