Telangana: Voter information slips to be distributed in the state

In Telangana, the voter information slips will be distributed after the 10th of November as the state is going to polls on the 30th of November. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj informed this at a meeting held in Hyderabad with the representatives of various political parties. 

The office of the CEO later said in a statement that the political parties were informed that only four persons will be allowed for scrutiny for each candidate and the candidates or their proposers should submit their withdrawal to the Returning Officer.

The CEO also asked the political parties to submit their list of star campaigners within seven days from the date of notification for the election. The CEO also asked the political parties to submit three copies of the manifesto in English and Telugu languages with a declaration that the programme, policies and promises made therein were in consonance with the rules. 

Meanwhile, over 10 thousand permissions were given to various political parties on Suvidha Portal while 36 approvals have been given under pre-certification of advertisements at the state level. The CEO also said 1961 complaints have been addressed on the C-Vigil app so far. Over 33 lakh out of 45 voter photo identity cards have also been distributed during this year. 

In Telangana, the election campaigning is taking to the next level in the poll-bound state as the filing of nominations will end tomorrow. All major parties are focussing on electioneering with bringing down star campaigners to the state.

The top leaders of both the ruling BRS and opposition Congress and BJP are making whirl-wind tours to various constituencies across the state. BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao will be completing his first stage of campaigning today after visiting about 50 constituencies and going to commence the next stage of Praja Ashirvada Sabhas from the 13th of this month in about 50 more constituencies. BRS Working president K Taraka Ramarao has taken up roadshows while the party candidates are focussing on door-to-door campaigning. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a public meeting at Secunderabad on Saturday. BJP senior leaders including union ministers also will be descending on to the state to take part in the campaigning during the next week.

 As the final stage of the battle for the Telangana Assembly approaches, the Pradesh Congress is rolling out its big guns including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other top leaders to visit the state after Deepavali.
