Kerala: ICMR to hold camp for checking blood samples at Thalassery Court premises after many court officials infected with Zika virus
In Kerala, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will hold a camp for checking blood samples at the Thalassery Court premises today after many court officials were found infected with Zika virus.
Samples tested at the virology labs at Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha confirmed the virus in nine persons, including a judicial officer. About 100 persons developed symptoms associated with the virus.
A cleanliness drive will be launched in the Court premises tomorrow. The virus is primarily transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito from the Aedes genus.
