Piyush Goyal flags off 100 mobile vans for sale of wheat flour-Atta under Bharat brand in New Delhi
Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal today flagged off 100 mobile vans for the sale of wheat flour-Atta under the Bharat brand in New Delhi.
Mr Goyal said, this atta will be available at 27.5 rupees per kilogram in over two thousand outlets across the country including Kendriya Bhandar, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited, and National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India Limited.
The Minister said that the launch of retail sales of Bharat brand Atta will increase supplies in the market at affordable rates, and will help in continued moderation of prices of this food item. He said, the objective behind this is to create a price stabilisation in the market and support both the farmers and the consumers of the country. He further added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the vision to help the consumers as well as the farmers.
Mr. Goyal said that the Centre’s intervention has stabilised the price of essential commodities. He said that various measures were also taken in the past with regard to tomatoes and onions to cool off prices.
