Telangana: CLEA & state Police Seizes Rs. 243 Cr after last year’s state assembly election

In Telangana, on the first day of filing of nominations for assembly polls, former Minister T. Nageswar Rao of the Congress from Khammam constituency and Maheshwar Reddy of BJP in Nirmal were among the candidates who filed their nominations today.

Meanwhile, the first online nomination was also filed by Jalagam Sudhir Kumar as an independent candidate in Kodad. The nomination will be received till 10th of this month.

Meanwhile, the YSR Telangana Party chief Sharmila Reddy announced party support to Congress and said the party will not contest the election this time to protect the anti-incumbency vote from dividing.

In another development, MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi announced that his party will contest from 9 constituencies. These include 7 seats represented by the party in the state assembly and two other seats from Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, TDP Telangana former President Kasani Gyaneshwar joined BRS today in the presence of BRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. TDP is not contesting elections in Telangana this time.
