TMC MP Mahua Moitra appears before Lok Sabha Ethics Committee in alleged ‘cash-for-query’ scam
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra today appeared before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee in the alleged ‘cash-for-query’ scam. The questioning of Mahua Moitra is underway in Parliament on basis of reports received by the Ethics Committee from three Union Ministries along with other documents and evidences.
The Parliamentary panel had sought information from the three Ministries. Mahua Moitra has refuted the allegation, but admitted to sharing parliamentary login with businessman Darshan Hiranandani.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had alleged that TMC MP had taken bribes to ask questions in Parliament on behalf of the businessman to target the Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai who accused Moitra of taking bribes for asking questions in Parliament was cross-examined by the Ethics Committee last month.
