3rd Coast Guard Global Summit aims to enhance cooperation & collaboration among Coast Guards around the world
New Delhi, 31 Oct 23. A two member Indian Coast Guard delegation led by DG Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM, Director General Indian Coast Guard is on official visit to Tokyo, Japan from 30 Oct – 02 Nov 23 to participate in the 3rd Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS). 02 days summit is aimed to enhanced the collaboration & cooperation among Coast Guards worldwide. During the inaugural summit on 30 Oct 23 DGICG interacted with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of japan Mr Fumio Kishida.
Considering the need to tackle growing ocean issues at global level, Japan Coast Guard and Nippon Foundation co-hosted the first CGGS in 2017. The purpose of the CGGS is to share fundamental perspectives and strengthen multilateral cooperation around the world on issues of human resource development and protection of the global ocean environment.
The 3rd CGGS envisages to exploring emerging roles of Coast Guards and opportunities for new partnership/ collaboration. During the summit, information Sharing Methodology, launch of CGGS Website, Coast Guard global human resource development implementation programme, pioneer activities on utilization of Autonomous/ Unmanned Ships for CG Missions and exchange of “Best Practices” will be deliberated.
