Karnataka: Smart Cities Mission gives new look to Hubbali
In Karnataka, the Government’s Urban Renewal Programme, the Smart Cities Mission has given a new look to local vegetable markets in Hubbali.
These markets are crucial hubs for local farmers and traders to sell their produce, and Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Ltd (HDSCL) has ensured that they have modern amenities and infrastructure to function efficiently.
The redevelopment of these markets includes the installation of CCTV cameras for security, new toilets, security cabins, and display boards to make it easier for consumers to navigate the markets.
Talking to Akashvani News, Deputy General Manager of HDSCL, Basavraj highlighted how the Bengeri market in the city has been developed.
Similarly, the old Janata Bazaar, located a few metres from Hubballi’s iconic Kittur Rani Chenamma Circle, has also witnessed a sea change. The well-designed marketplace is ready to give both vendors and customers a pleasant, hassle-free experience to maximise economic gains.
