Goa becomes hub of sports and athletic excellence in 37th National Games
With the 37th National Games in full swing, Goa has become a hub of sports and athletic excellence. After the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday in a grand opening ceremony, players are showcasing their talent and agility in the National Games.
Modern Pentathlon, Basketball, Mallakhamb, women’s Rugby, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Women’s football, etc. are going on and some are concluded. Winners are from almost every nook and corner of the country.
Babu Gaonkar, from Goa, won Gold in Modern Pentathlon and was congratulated by Goa CM Dr Pramod Sawant. Women’s Epee Individual Final at the National Games has concluded with an impressive display of skill by Tanishka Khatri of Haryana.
In the Men’s 81kg Weightlifting Championship, Nitek Jangid of Rajasthan won the gold medal while the Gold medal for women’s 71 kg weightlifting was bagged by Harjinder Kaur of Punjab. Games will continue till the 9th of November.
