Maharashtra: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar flags off 900-member State contingent for participation of 37 National Games
Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and President of Maharashtra State Olympic Association Ajit Pawar today flagged off the 900-member State contingent for the participation of 37 National Games, scheduled to be held in Goa from tomorrow to the 9th of November.
Showing the confidence that players will bring glory for Maharashtra in the upcoming National Games, Mr. Pawar said that players should play their natural game and perform at their best without coming under the pressure of expectations. Mr. Pawar warned the participants not to use illegal substances and doping during the National Games.
Mr. Pawar assured that the State Government would provide state-of-the-art training to sportspersons, and subsequently, there would be no problem arising with funds for the preparation of athletes. Last year, 800 players participated in the National Games and achieved 39 Gold, 38 Silver and 83 bronze medals.
