BRO restores connectivity to villages in North Sikkim severely affected by flash floods
The Border Roads Organization (BRO) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment by re-establishing vital connectivity in challenging circumstances.
In a remarkable display of dedication and efficiency, BRO undertook formation cutting day in and day out to restore connectivity to Ritchu village which was severely affected by flash floods on October 4, 2023.
BRO official said, the flash floods, which struck the region with unprecedented force, had left the Ritchu village completely cut off from the outside world, stranding approximately 200 residents and more than 30 vehicles. The situation was dire, with no access to essential supplies, medical aid, or communication.
In a swift and coordinated response, BRO’s dedicated personnel worked tirelessly to clear and rebuild the damaged roads, culverts, and bridges.
Their relentless efforts were pivotal in ensuring the safe rescue of the 200 stranded individuals, as well as the recovery of more than 30 vehicles from the affected village. The commitment and resilience shown by BRO’s team members were truly commendable.
