National Handicrafts Exhibition ‘Gandhi Bunkar Mela’ begins in Kolkata

National Handicrafts Exhibition- Gandhi Bunkar Mela began on Wednesday (18th October 2023) in Kolkata under the initiative of the Union Ministry of Textiles.

The main aim is to increase the marketing of khadi textiles across the country and to generate people’s interest in khadi products.

Technical Superintendent of the Ministry’s Weaver Service Center, N S Patel inaugurated the fair at Manjusha Bhavan in Dhakuria. He said, plans have been made to organize this kind of fairs in the entire country.

This period of Sharad Utsav has been chosen to increase the awareness and business opportunities of Khadi in the state. The fair will continue till October 31.
