Hyderabad: ‘Purified yogic life provides wellness’says Ramesh Partani, Chairman of Ru Education at GITAM
GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences was honored to welcome Ramesh Partani, Chairman of Ru Education, as he delivered an enlightening guest lecture on ‘Mental Wellness – The Yogic Way’ to commemorate World Mental Health Day. The lecture shed light on the significance of purifying one’s intention, actions, emotions, and thoughts to achieve ultimate wellness through yoga.
During the lecture, Mr. Partani emphasized the importance of living a purified yogic life to attain 360 degrees of wellness. He highlighted the engineering design of the human body, which allows for a comfortable lifespan of 140 years, yet the average age is only 70 years. He noted that the abuse of the body through unhealthy eating habits, poor water quality, polluted air, and a sedentary lifestyle leads to physical and mental health issues.
Furthermore, Mr. Partani discussed the purification of speech and its impact on overall wellness. He emphasized the need for appropriate communication, knowing when to speak and when to remain silent. He highlighted the power of silence as a response to certain situations and stressed the importance of using speech as a resource to positively influence others.
The third aspect of wellness discussed was the purification of emotions, also known as ‘bhava sudhi.’ Mr. Partani explained how emotions can greatly impact actions and stressed the importance of controlling anger and embracing acceptance and forgiveness. He warned against uncontrolled emotions leading to destructive behavior and emphasized the significance of maintaining a positive mindset.
Mr. Partani concluded his lecture by highlighting the importance of positive thinking in recognizing opportunities within difficulties. He encouraged attendees to learn from failures, focus on opportunities, and approach every situation with a positive mindset.
Dr. Durgesh Nandinee, the coordinator of the talk, expressed gratitude to Mr. Partani for his valuable insights into wellness and mental health.
