Aircraft Tejas air show at Sangam area of Prayagraj on the occasion of Air Force Day
Air display held over Sangam area in Prayagraj to showcase country’s capabilities on Air Force Day
The Indian Air Force celebrated its 91st anniversary in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. As part of the celebrations, IAF organized the ceremonial parade at Air Force Station Bamrauli in Prayagraj. The parade showcased the IAF’s capabilities and its commitment to defending the nation.
Sky para jumpers performed outstanding stunts and filled the people with thrill and enthusiasm. Over 2500 spectators including around 400 school children watched the parade.
The parade was followed by air display over the Sangam area. The air display, more than 100 fighter and transport aircraft including the fighter jets like SU-30, Rafale to light combat aircraft Tejas besides C-130J Super Hercules and helicopters from 10 air bases showcased the power of Indian Air Force and left the viewers completely mesmerised. The air display witnessed a formal send-off to MiG-21 and the recently inducted C-295 transport aircraft made its debut at the Air Force Day over the Sangam.
The two vintage aircrafts including Tigermoth and Harvard also participated in the show. These aircrafts had participated in World War-II. The helicopter air display team of the IAF, Sarang performed a five aircraft display for the first time. Surya Kiran Aerobatic team displayed various formations. Apart from this Akash Ganga Sky Display team of the IAF also be seen in action.
The aerial display was multi-directional and was viewed by large number of people from all sides of Sangam, Arail ghat, Jhunsi side, Shastri bridge and surrounding areas.
