Speaking to media persons in Kochi, ISRO Chairman S Somanath said that the Aditya L1 Mission is performing satisfactorily and is expected to reach the L1 Point in another 18-plus days. The X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XPoSat), designed to study the polarization of cosmic X-rays will also be launched in December.
Later, addressing the valedictory of Hacking and Cyber Briefing Conference -CoCon 16, Somnath said ISRO is facing huge threats, especially by actors in the neighbourhood, who are trying to penetrate India’s space infrastructure.
He said threats and vulnerabilities are identified at the design stage itself, which has become a standard practice at the space agency. He said intranet and internet are physically separated and threats are handled at the interface, without allowing it to percolate down.
