Sikkim Flood: CM Prem Singh Tamang visits disaster affected areas, and assures full support and assistance
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today visited the disaster-affected areas at Naga in Mangan district and also visited the relief camp where about 200 people are stationed.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister assured full support and assistance. He also provided financial aid for emergency purposes and informed that restoring road connectivity is the priority of the State Government.
Similarly, officials reached the cut-off Chungthang from Pegong today morning, at around 8:30 am, after crossing the Chungthang river using rope.
The officials comprising the team of four people, Minister Samdup Lepcha, DIG Range North & East, CO ITBP, and SDM Chungthang were the first people to reach Chungthang after the disaster hit the area severely. Construction of a log bridge to reconnect Chungthang is still on the way, as the totally washed-out region has limited access to resources and manpower
