Indian Coast Guard rescues ten fishermen from Palk Bay
Indian Coast Guard rescued ten fishermen from Palk Bay in a swift operation. The Indian Coast Guard ship C 432, based at Mandapam in Rameswaram, located and rescued the distressed boat with the crew.
The distressed boat had suffered hull damage leading to uncontrolled inflow of water resulting in engine failure.
The fishing boat had sailed from Navoor harbour in Nagapattinam on 5th October and had suffered damage on the high seas. As soon as the information about the boat was received from the fisheries department, the Coast Guard ship was immediately sent on the rescue mission.
The boat and the crew were safely handed over to the fisheries department at Rameswaram, near Pamban fishing harbour.
