PM MODI to Dedicate Manoharabad – Siddipet New Railway Line, Electrification between Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool to the Nation and Flag-off the inaugural Train service from Siddipet – Secunderabad
Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister will dedicate New Railway line between Manoharabad – Siddipet as well as Electrification between Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool on 3rd October, 2023 at a function to be held at Nizamabad. The Hon’ble Prime Minister will also flag-off the inaugural Siddipet – Secunderabad Train service (through video conference). During this program, the Hon’ble Prime Minister will also dedicate to the Nation and lay foundation stone for several other developmental projects in important sectors like Power, Rail and Health worth around Rs 8,000 crore during the function.
The railway infrastructure in the State of Telangana is being transformed at a staggering pace to meet the peoples’ aspirations. In the recent past, Several New areas are being connected first time by Railways; existing lines are being expanded through double line &third line works and entire rail network in the state is being rapidly electrified. Taking this transformative growth forward, a new line between Manoharabad – Siddipet is being dedicated to the Nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister which fulfills long-cherished aspiration of people of this region for rail connectivity. The new line provides first time rail connectivity to several new areas in the district of Medak and Siddipet.
The 76 kms new rail line between Manoharabad – Siddipet has been completed at a cost of nearly Rs. 1,200 crs as part of the Manoharabad – Kothapalli New Railway Line. Commissioning of this section signifies completion of major portion of the rail project. It is cost-sharing project wherein State Government of Telangana has to be bear 1/3rd of the cost and provide land free of cost. The New line between Manoharabad – Siddipet involved construction of 7 new stations, 13 Major bridges and 68 Minor bridges. The project will aid in the socio-economic development of the people and give fillip to agriculture and agro based industries in the region.
The 348 track kms Electrification between Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool has been competed at a cost of nearly Rs. 305 crs, as part of the Manmad – Mudkhed – Mahabubnagar – Dhone electrification project. Electrification of Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool sections signify completion of entire portion of Telangana part of the project. Completion of these sections facilitates seamless and continuous electrified rail connectivity right from Adilabad to Hyderabad / Secunderabad and further to important towns like Tirupati, Bengaluru, Chennai, etc. Electrification of this section also eliminates detention of trains for traction change, improves average speed, while promoting environment-friendly means of transport.
Two New Train services (DEMU) are being introduced between Siddipet – Secunderabad – Siddipet. The inaugural train service will be flagged off by the Hon’ble Prime Minister (through video conference) and will be operated from Siddipet to Secunderabad. The train will be connecting Siddipet, Medak, Medchal Malkajgiri and Hyderabad districts in the state of Telangana. It provides a safe, fast and economical mode of transportation for the people. It will be particularly helpful to daily commuters, students, farming community, People requiring medical assistance among others.
