Andhra Pradesh: Minister Peddireddy to inaugurate Mangalagiri Eco-Park tomorrow
Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Minister for Environment and Forests, Government of Andhra Pradesh will inaugurate the Eco Park, which has been developed from the environmental point of view by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department in Mangalagiri, Guntur district tomorrow.
According to the instructions and instructions of PCCF Mr. Y Madhusudana Reddy, under the supervision of Guntur CCF Srinivasa Reddy, Guntur District Forest Officer K. Mahaboob Pasha, with the special efforts of the Eco park, which has been set up in a beautiful and all-round beauty, will impress the visitors.
Speaking on this occasion, DFO K. Mahaboob Pasha praised the support of higher authorities for the development of Eco Park and explained the development of the park and the facilities provided in terms of environment.
Introduction:
Tadepalli Reserve Forest of Mangalagiri block was notified under section 16 of (Act No:V) Madras Forest Act 1885, (Notification No.384, dt: 09.08.1890) with a total extent of 480.10Ha. This block is nearer to Mangalagiri Village/Municipal Corporation located at a distance of 25Kms away from Guntur city and 13Kms from Vijayawada.
The following are the details of the forest area of Mangalagiri block of Tadepalli Reserve Forest.
1 Total Area as per Gazette : 480.100 Ha
2 Dis-reserved area : 160.950 Ha
Out of which 20.00 Ha was allotted for Eco-Park at Mangalagiri.
The main objective of the Eco-Park is recreational to educate and creating awareness regarding forests and environment to the pilgrims visiting the Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple as well as the general public in and around Mangalagiri to experience the green lung space created with natural forests in the premises of Mangalagiri temple town. The Eco-Park is located along the road to A.P. Secretariat from Guntur. The Geographical Co-ordinates of Eco-Park are 16.44240, 80.57698
Climate:Mangalagiri experiences primarily a hot season throughout the year, summer is being extremely warm and dry. December to February is a cool winter season. March to May is the warm summer season and June to September is the months for South West monsoon. October to till November is the post monsoon or retreating monsoon season. Storms and Depression, originating in the Bay of Bengal, cross the Coast of district causing wide spread heavy rain and strong winds. Thunder-storms occur during May – November, being more frequent in the post monsoon season.
Further, it is submitted that an amount of Rs.150.00 lakhs was spent towards developmental works in Eco-Park, Mangalgiri during 2022-23 and 2023-24 and the following facilities are created.

4. Softscape/ Hedge planting all along the walking track
5. Wash rooms
6. Entrance Arch with gate
7. Sitting benches
8. Open gym
9. Vanams
10. Yoga Centre
11. FRO camp office
12. R.O plant
13. Trekking to the hill top,
14. Adventurous play zone for children etc.,
Children Play area: Children play area created with different play equipment and adventurous sports events like Commando net, Burma bridge, Tyre rows, Tyre swing etc., developed for recreational purpose
Pagoda: Two resting pagodas were constructed inside the park with Eco-friendly materials.
Trekking:
Under the able guidance of Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), AP, Guntur and Chief Conservator of Forests, Guntur, a trekking path from park to top of the hillock was created with a distance of 3.00 km inside the natural forests to experience the nature.
An MOU is proposed to have with outrival adventures for organizing the trekking events with college students, NGO’s & different Eco clubs of Guntur and Mangalagiri areas.
Walking Path: To a distance of 2.7 km walking track all along the foot hills is developed for daily walkers. At present daily 100 members of walkers using the track.
