Karnataka: Bengaluru bandh against release of Cauvery River water to Tamilnadu
Various organisations in Karnataka have called for a Bengaluru bandh tomorrow against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamilnadu. BJP, JD(S) and AAP parties have extended support to the bandh.
The federation of farmers associations, KSRTC and BMTC staff and workers Federation, Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, Autorickshaw and Cab drivers association are some of the 300 organisations that have extended support to the bandh tomorrow.
Ola Uber Drivers and Owners Association, Airport cabs association, Industry bodies, IT-BT company representatives, hotels and restaurants have decided to remain closed tomorrow.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have appealed to the organisations to stage peaceful protest. Bengaluru city police Commissioner B Dayananda has said that security arrangements are made to ensure law and order tomorrow.
