DMRC and BEL sign MoU to develop indigenous Communication Based Train Control system

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Bharat Electronics Limited on Wednesday (13 September 2023) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop an indigenous Communication Based Train Control system.

This partnership will transform rail transportation in India, driving innovation, reducing costs, and fostering self-reliance in the field of train control signalling systems.

It is in line with the Make in India initiative. The Communication-Based Train Control System will optimise train operations, increase frequency, and enhance passenger services while efficiently utilising rail infrastructure. The prototype i-CBTC Product will be deployed soon on a test track.
