Hyderabad: Eco-friendly Ganesha Competition at GITAM

GITAM School of Science, Department of Chemistry, organized an eco-friendly Ganesha idol-making competition for all ZPHS students in Rudraram Village. The event was held on September 13, 2023, under the guidance of Prof. Nagesha Dattatri, Principal, Dr. T.B.Patrudi, and Dr. R.Uma Devi, Associate and Assistant Professors, Department of Chemistry. The competition aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability among the children.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the village. Under the theme of eco-friendliness, the students showcased their creativity and skills by crafting Ganesha idols using sustainable materials. The event was an opportunity for the students to learn about the importance of preserving the environment and adopting eco-friendly practices.

After careful evaluation of the idols, the winners were announced. Veerender and Durga Prasad were awarded the first prize for their outstanding creation. Madhu Priya, Vyshnavi, Nagasri, and Divya formed a team that won the second prize, while Srimani and V.Vyshnavi team secured the third prize. Bhargav and Raj Kumar were recognized with special prizes for their exceptional contributions. All other participants received consolation prizes for their efforts and participation.

The competition was made possible through the support of B.Sc and EWB students, who actively assisted in organizing and managing the event. Their dedication and commitment to promoting eco-friendly practices were instrumental in the success of the competition.

GITAM takes pride in its commitment to environmental sustainability and believes in nurturing the younger generation’s awareness about eco-friendly practices.
