Asia Cup 2023: Rain again halts India-Pakistan clash
Asia Cup Cricket, chasing a huge victory target of 357 runs set by India, rain halted play when Pakistan were reeling at 44 for two in 11 overs in the Super Four stage on the reserve day at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each.
Earlier, resuming from their score of 147 for two, India made 356 runs losing two wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Virat Kohli and K.L. Rahul both hit centuries and remained not out.
While Kohli made 122 in 94 balls, Rahul scored 111 off 106 balls. This is Kohli’s 47th century in One-Day Internationals. Kohli stunned fans after he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the fastest batter to score 13000 runs in ODI.
The match which was to begin at 3 pm today, delayed due to wet field. Yesterday, openers Rohit Sharma with 56 runs, and Shubman Gill 58 gave India a flying start. India will play against Sri Lanka tomorrow at the same venue. The match will begin at 3 p.m.
