The statewide bandh called by the Telugu Desam Party and supported by the Jana Sena Party and CPI is currently undergoing without any major law-and-order issues as of now.

While state public transport has been restricted at a few places as a precautionary measure, general movement of vehicles and public transport remains functional. Important cities of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati have not reported any disturbances.

Section 144 has been imposed across the state and important leaders of the opposition parties are currently kept under house arrest as a precautionary measure to prevent law and order problem

Mr Naidu is currently stationed in Central Jail, Rajamahendravaram, about 160 km from Vijayawada. A bail petition has been filed in the ACB court, Vijayawada and the verdict is awaited. Mr naidu is being represented by Senior Advocate at Supreme Court, Mr Siddharth Luthra.

The bandh has been called in the view of 14 days judicial remand ordered by ACB court yesterday for former CM of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu in connection with alleged corruption charges in AP Skill Development Scheme during the previous government from 2014-2019 headed by Mr Naidu. Mr Naidu is currently the leader of opposition and National President of the Telugu Desam Party.
