Govt to organize 3-day national workshop on localization of sustainable development goals in gram panchayats
The government will organize a three-day national workshop on the localization of sustainable development goals in gram panchayats. The three-day workshop will be inaugurated by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh in Srinagar on 21st August 2023. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said that the workshop aims to exhibit the best strategies, approaches, convergent actions, and innovative models in context with capacity building and training.
The Ministry said that the Meri Panchayat Mobile App will also be released during the inaugural session of the workshop. Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj Sunil Kumar, and other distinguished dignitaries and local public representatives will participate in the inaugural event.
During the workshop, elected representatives and functionaries of selected Gram Panchayats from different States and UTs will showcase their experiences in relevant thematic areas through short video film presentations.
The Ministry said elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj Institutions from across the country and across Jammu and Kashmir will attend the National Workshop. It said that panchayats that have taken initiatives in thematic areas have also been invited to participate in the workshop. Participants will consist of elected representatives and functionaries of panchayats, key stakeholders, domain experts, and agencies doing exemplary work in the 5 Ts of good governance, which are teamwork, timeliness, transparency, technology, and transformation.
