Karnataka: Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurates India’s first 3D printed post office building in Bengaluru

Union Minister of Railways, Communications and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today inaugurated India’s first 3D printed post office building in Bengaluru today. The post office building in Bengaluru used 3D printing technology with technical know-how from IIT Madras and L&T.

The 3D printed concrete building is cost effective, reduces wastage of construction material, is environment friendly and speeds up construction with unique design possibilities. Speaking on the occasion, minister Ashwini Vaishnaw drew the attention of the audience towards the persistent efforts being made by the Prime Minister to indigenise advanced technologies. 

He noted that India today has developed 4G and 5G technology within the country. For the first time telecom equipment is manufactured in India. It has shown to the world that India can design and develop world class trains like Vande Bharat.

The minister called upon Indians to take pride in the Vande Bharat train with world class features. Later addressing media persons, the minister said that 4000 kms of railway track were upgraded for the fast trains to run on them.

In the next four to five years track capacity will improve further and more Vande Bharat trains can run on them. On rules being framed for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the minister noted that wide consultations are being held to make the rules easy and simple to understand and seamless adoption.
