Andhra Pradesh: Central Tribal University celebrates its 5 th Foundation Day
The 5th Foundation Day of Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh was celebrated on Wednesday. Along with that, the International Day of the World Indigenous Peoples was celebrated. University Vice-Chancellor Professor T. V. Kattimani acted as the President of the program. Professor Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Director of IISER, Barampur delivered the inaugural address as the chief guest of the function.
He said that the tribal university should be developed into a world-class institution. Teamwork is needed for that. Prof. Murali Gandhi, Regional Institute of Education, NCERT, Mysore, who was the guest of honor for the program, said that innovation does not come from past memories or books, but from a free mind, a young mind full of curiosity. It is stated that the recommendations of the National Education Policy must be implemented to make the curiosity, innovation, and vitality of educational institutions.
Later, in celebration of the International Day of World Indigenous Peoples, ViceChancellor Professor T. V. Kattimani spoke. In his welcome address he mentioned the achievements and growth journey of the university in the last five years. He congratulated all the current students, alumni, faculty and well-wishers of the university on the occasion. And, on the occasion of Dr. S. Ranganathan’s 131st birth anniversary called as the Librarian’s Day the guests inaugurated the digital library as part of celebrations.
Various competitions were organized for students on the occasion of Founder’s Day. Prizes were given to the winning students. The Foundation Day concluded with the cultural programme presented by students. The program was chaired by Prof. Jitendra Mohan Mishra, Organising Secretary Dr. Gangu Naidu Mandala. University faculty, non-teaching staff and students participated and made noise.
