Singareni: Re-birth of two giant trees: Successful translocation under direction of Director N.Balaram
Singareni Colliery Company Limited (SCCL), which is known for its environmental friendly measures, takes special measures for planting and protecting trees.
Due to the recent heavy rains, one of the 6 decades old banyan tree in the head office of Kothagudem fell to the ground due to the heavy rains and as per the instructions of Mr. N. Balaram, director of finance and personnel who is an environmentalist and a forest lover, this tree was uprooted with JCB along with the inner roots and loaded into a truck with the help of a heavy crane and taken to Kothagudem. The bungalows area has been translocated to the guest house area.
Also, another huge 50-year-old dirisinam tree next to the shuttle court fell to the ground and it was also translocated to the back side of the shuttle court. In the past, in the Ramagundam-1 area, the old trees in the new open cast mine area were similarly removed along with their roots and planted elsewhere.
Now those trees are growing back as healthy trees. Director Finance and Personnel Mr.N. Balaram conveyed special congratulations.
