Singareni gears up for environment protection: Special syllabus on environment in educational institutions: Director N Balaram

Mr. N. Balaram, Director Personnel and Finance SCCL informed in a statement today that a special syllabus on environmental awareness and dynamism will be taught in all the colleges and schools operating in six districts under Singareni Educational Society.

He said that an active student from each class is selected as environmental captain to organize many environmental programs throughout the year, and committees are formed under the guidance of school or college physical education teachers.

He said that since the children of today are the citizens of tomorrow, this massive program has been undertaken to inculcate love and consciousness towards the environment from childhood. It is very rare to appoint such environmental captains in educational institutions in the country. Singareni Collieries is working to create environmental awareness among children as part of its environmental activities.

He said that Singareni Educational Institutions are preparing a syllabus by gathering information and teaching material from environmental organizations such as WWF, Bird Watchers and Telangana State Forest Department to give an inspiring explanation on the environment. He said that every week some environmental benefit program is taken up.

Among these, quizzes, essay writing programs, environmental tours for students, organization of important environment-related days as festivals in educational institutions, complete ban on plastic in educational institutions, etc.

He said that the Singareni Company already conducts mining in an environment-friendly manner, and with the planting of more than six crore saplings across Singareni, the entire area is flourishing with greenery. On the instructions of the Director, General Manager Singareni Educational Society has issued instructions to all the schools and colleges across the Singareni today.
