Telangana: Inter-Ministerial Central Officials team to be touring rain-affected areas in the state
The Inter-Ministerial Central Officials team will be touring the rain-affected areas in Telangana state to assess the damages due to the recent incessant heavy rains that lashed several parts of the state.
The team led by Joint Secretary in NDMA, Kunal Satyardhi and members including from various departments like Finance, Road Transport, Jal Shakti, Agriculture and National Remote Sensing authority will tour in the rain-affected areas for next three days.
The team will reach Warangal city this afternoon after a briefing from the Revenue department in Hyderabad. The team will visit Moranchapally village in Bhupalpally district tomorrow. The village faced devastation and inundated in a short span of few hours due to heavy downpour and flooding.
The central team will also visit another worst affected village Kondai in Mulugu district and Bhadrachalam town on 3rd of this month before leaving for Delhi. As per the state government, over 40 people died due to rain related incidents and over 27 thousand people have been evacuated while dozens of lakes breached and damages reported to electricity supply properties and others.
