Telangana: Biodiversity with tigers; says Minister Indrakaran Reddy on Global Tigers Day
Mr. Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Minister for Forest and Environment said that it is the responsibility of all of us to protect tigers, which are the main basis of biodiversity. He said that on the occasion of World Tiger Day, there is a need to recognize the vital role tigers play in our ecosystems. Tigers are not only symbols of power and beauty; We all want to realize that they are keystone species that help maintain the balance of nature.
He called upon people to know that the survival of tigers is also important for the survival of humanity as the forest, environment, nature, fauna, grasslands and biodiversity directly and indirectly depend on a tiger.
He said that we are organizing the World Tiger Day on July 29 every year to create awareness among the people about the conservation of big tigers and to make them participate. It has been revealed that people’s support is needed for the conservation and expansion of tiger habitats and such programs are very useful for creating awareness about tiger conservation.
He said that the measures taken by the Telangana government for the conservation of tigers are bearing fruit. Amrabad Tiger Reserve (ATR) and Kawal Tiger Reserve (KTR) are being managed very well and the number of tigers is increasing significantly, he said.
He said that the number of these is increasing significantly with the forest and wildlife protection measures being taken in the state. He said that due to better forest expansion in Telangana, adequate number of animals for hunting and water resources, tigers from neighboring Maharashtra’s Tippeshwar and Tadoballo are migrating here. It is said that the increase in the number of herbivorous animals with the cultivation of grasslands is also related to this.
Armed measures are being taken to prevent wildlife-human conflict. It is said that we are taking steps towards reinventing the Tiger Project in a way that prioritizes the safety of tigers and the well-being of people living in the vicinity of their natural habitats.
