In Andhra Pradesh, the Munneru River is in spate and is overflowing on the National Highway 65 connecting the important cities of Hyderabad in Telangana and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, which has been closed due to floods.

Vehicle traffic between the two major cities has been diverted via Guntur, Sattenapalli, Dachepalli, Miryalguda, and Narkatpalli. The police department is supervising the situation and has advised people to call the police in an emergency over WhatsApp No: 7328909090.

Road link at the tri-State border of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh has been cut off. The movement of vehicular traffic came to a halt since last evening at the tri-state border at Chintoor, ASR District in Andhra Pradesh owing to the overflowing of the Sabari and Sileru rivers following heavy rainfall.

Vehicles proceeding from Chhattisgarh and Odisha need to pass through the Chintoor tri-state border to enter Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. About 10,000 families have been evacuated from the 93 flood-affected habitations in Chintoor Agency in Andhra Pradesh.

With the second flood warning issued at Dowleswaram Barrage near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh last evening, the NDRF is deploying additional teams from Tamil Nadu and Odisha to take up rescue measures in flood-affected areas of East Godavari, Eluru, and Krishna Districts.

The teams are equipped with Vehicle Mounted Antenna, Very High Frequency (VHF), V-Sat and satellite phones which can provide internet service and signals to VHF sets up to 25km.
