Andhra Pradesh at the 3rd edition of “Global Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturing Hubs in India” Summit

NEW DELHI, July 27, 2023: Government of Andhra Pradesh participated in the 3rd edition of the Summit on “Global Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturing Hubs in India” (GCPMH 2023) organized by Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on 27th – 28th July 2023 at New Delhi.

The summit was inaugurated by Union Minister of Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman today in the presence of MoS for Chemicals and Fertilizers and New & Renewable Energy Shri Bhagwant Khuba, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. Senior Officers from the Government of Andhra Pradesh represented the state and presented the emerging opportunities in the Chemical & Petrochemical sector of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing at the session on addressing a session on “PCPIRs/ Chemical Hubs Perspective” at the 3rd Edition Summit on ‘Global Chemicals & Petrochemicals Manufacturing Hubs in India’, Shri Pravin Kumar, Commissioner of Industries, VC & MD – APIIC, CEO – Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) and CEO – Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) spoke about the vision of Andhra Pradesh in the Chemicals and Petro Chemicals Sector going forward, given the 640 Sq.km largest Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region in India.

He highlighted that the state has been No.1 in Ease of Doing Business and is a “Top Achiever” in ease of logistics, which is a true testimony to the business-friendly environment prevalent in the State of Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned that the state has committed investments worth Rs 13.42 Lakh Cr and emphasized on the readily available port, infra, rail, road, air etc infrastructure and ecosystem available in the state.

Speaking of the industrial parks and major companies operating in Andhra Pradesh, Shri Pravin Kumar said that the state has a vibrant economy with the presence of major Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas companies like ONGC, BPCL and The Andhra Petrochemicals. He underlined the fact as to the commitment of the state towards sustainability, and spoke about the prospective big investments in Ethanol Blending and Green Hydrogen. He also spoke about the distinct advantage of Andhra Pradesh in terms of providing infrastructure and support to the investors, beyond requirement.

In the side-lines of the summit, Shri Pravin Kumar, along with Smt Kritika Shukl, Collector & District Magistrate – Kakinada and Sri Ravi Subhash, Collector & District Magistrate, Anakapalli District, met with several senior officials from companies and government as well as private bodies namely HMEL, Deepak Nitrate, Surbana Jurong, SABIC India, Nayara Energy, Bayer Crop Science, Engineers India Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Indian Chemical Council, Port of Antwerp Bruges, to discuss the investment opportunities in the State of Andhra Pradesh.PIC
