NTPC SRHQ distributes sanitary vending machine and incinerator with focus on improving menstrual hygiene
To achieve gender equality, it is important that girls can attend and reach their full potential in schools. Inadequate options for menstrual hygiene recently received attention as a barrier to education for girls.
Addressing this need NTPC SRHQ under its CSR Program today distributed 9 sanitary Vending machine along with Incinerators in the first phase to Govt schools and colleges.
Shri Debashish Chattopadhyaya, RED(South) along with District Educational Officer(Musheerabad Zone) Shri S Chiranjeevi distributed the vending machine and incinerator today at NTPC office at Secunderabad.
A total of 5000 sanitary pads was also provided to each school and college along with the machines. Shri Chattopadhyay stated that menstrual hygiene in schools is very necessary so that girls can have better accessibility to quality and break free education.
Shri SN Panigrahi, GM(HR) SRHQ shared that NTPC one of the key areas under CSR is health education and sanitation. This initiative is a part of it. He also shared that they will distribute to more schools and colleges in the second phase.
