AP: CM Jagan Mohan Reddy laid foundation stones and inaugurates 11 food processing units worth of Rs.1,719 Cr
Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has inaugurated the 6 food processing units in Sricity from the Tadepalli camp office, and virtually laid the foundation stone for 5 units. Apart from these, 421 collection centers and 43 cold rooms were opened by the CM today.
The total expenditure for 11 food processing units is Rs.1,719 crore. 36,558 farmers will be directly benefited by the 5 units that have been laid foundation stone, providing direct employment to 745 people.
CM Shri YS Jagan laid the virtual foundation stone of Mondelez India Food Pvt Ltd unit in Sricity. MDLZ Vice President (India Operations) Venkata Ramana Venepalli and other representatives participated in the event.
Mandaliz is setting up the world’s largest chocolate company in Sricity with Rs.1600 crores. The unit will produce 2.2 lakh tonnes of cocoa and will provide employment to 500 people and benefit 18000 farmers.

Speaking on this occasion, the representatives of FPOs appreciated the encouragement of the government and the performance of the officials.

Sir, we have formed an association of health and snacks producers in Vizianagaram district with the cooperation of NABARD, in which there are 1500 members, in the circumstances of not knowing where to sell snacks in our district, at a time when we were facing a lot of difficulties, the CM noticed our difficulties and solved our problems.
A unit worth Rs 4 crore has been set up by AP Food Processing Society. Setting up in our remote area felt like a revolution. We directly employ 30 people, directly benefit 2 thousand farmers and indirectly benefit 10 thousand farmers. The authorities have cooperated well with us.

We have been working with farmers for the last 30, 35 years and promoting FPO called Dharani with farmers. We are promoting organic farming and millets a lot, there are more than 2 thousand farmers in the community society we have formed.
We manufacture 115 products and do business in 13 states through 500 retailers. We want to start organic vegetables and fruits, now we will get a chance, thank you sir.

Sir, we have formed a farmer’s association with vegetable farmers in Palamaneru in collaboration with NABARD, we used to sort and grade the vegetables grown by the farmers and supply them to some corporate organizations, at such time our FPO was identified and a primary processing center was established.
Missionary, cold storage and transport vehicles have been set up with about Rs.4 crores. 720 farmers are using this unit and processing their produce directly without any intermediaries. Very useful for us. About 1000 farmers are using it and benefiting, thanks sir.
