Hyderabad: IMD issues red alert of heavy to very heavy rains at many districts tomorrow
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued a red alert of heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy spells at a few places, likely to occur in Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda tomorrow.
The Met department also issued a red alert of very heavy rains likely to occur at some places in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jangoen Khammam, Nalgonda Suryapet, and Siddipet districts on Wednesday.
The Met officials also issued an alert of heavy rains in many districts today and widespread rains in several districts for the next three days in the state. According to a weather bulletin, gale at a speed of 40-50 kmph is also likely to strike.
The officials also issued a Red alert of heavy rainfall in Hyderabad and nearby districts on Wednesday and Thursday. With heavy rains forecast, the state administration has been put on alert to prevent loss of life and property.
Due to the heavy rains that have been falling in Hyderabad since this afternoon, the residents of the twin cities have been in dire straits. Many areas were inundated by floods. School and college students faced difficulties in reaching their homes. Traffic was severely disrupted at many places.
