Delhi: Water level of Yamuna River breaches danger mark
The water level of the Yamuna River breached the danger mark on Sunday in New Delhi. According to Central Water Commission, the water level stood over 206 meters in the national capital following a surge in the discharge from the Hathnikund barrage into the river after heavy rain in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Revenue Minister Atishi said the Delhi government is on high alert and a further increase in the water level of the river is likely to impact the relief-and-rehabilitation work in the flood-affected low-lying areas of the national capital.
