NTPC SRHQ Launches Personality Development Program for Adolscent Girls
On the lines of the popular GEM(Girl Empowerment Mission), the flagship CSR Program of NTPC, India’s power major, the Southern Region HQ at Hyderabad in collaboration with Dakshin Deepanjali Mahila Samiti recently launched a month long non-residential program for Girls under the name of Personality Development Program (PDP) for girls at Govt. Girls High School at West Marredpally, Secunderabad.
Around 122 girls have registered for the program which will include training for all round development including computer training, dance, drama, self defence, Yoga, Art & Craft etc. Shri Debashish Chattopadhyay, Regional Executive Director (South & WR-1) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Smt. Suchita Nandi, President DDMS as Guest of Honour.
The program started with the lighting of the lamp followed by NTPC Geet. In her address Smt Nandi stated that in today’s world girls have equal talent and can perform at par with their male counterparts in any field given the right opportunity and platform which NTPC is now providing.
Shri Debashish Chattopadhyay, RED(South & WR-I) said that GEM Program which has been successfully conducted in all NTPC Stations and projects can also benefit the city based girl students and hence NTPC SRHQ tailor made a program for here which will benefit the students by developing their overall personality Each participant was handed a kit comprising of T-Shirt, Track pants, Shoes, Towels, Cap and Water Bottle..
The month-long program will be executed by Tanvi consultancy introduced the faculties to the children. All faculties have come with rich exposure in their respective fields and have won acclaim so that the best of the learning capabilities is provided to the participants. The students of Govt Girls High School presented a rich cultural program which was appreciated everyone by the audience.
The program was also attended by Shri SN Panigrahi, GM HR, Shri Badruddin Ansari, DGM-HR, Shri M Manohar Charya, Headmaster Govt Girls High School and other committee members of the Ladies Club along with teachers and students of Govt Girls High School West Marredpally.
