Canada Open: India’s PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen to play for a spot in Singles Semifinals at Calgary
In the Canada Open Badminton tournament, India’s PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen entered the singles quarterfinals. Two-time Olympic medallist, Sindhu received the walkover in the second round last night after the withdrawal of her rival Natsuki Nidaira of Japan.
Fourth seed Sindhu will take on Gao Fang Jie of China in a clash of the last eight tonight.
In Men’s Singles, Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya defeated Brazil’s Ygor Coelho, 21-15, 21-11 in the pre-quarterfinal. He will meet Julien Carraggi of Belgium in the quarterfinal tonight.
