Singareni ready for coal production in rainy season: 2 lakh tonnes of coal production and Transport per day: CMD N. Sridhar

Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and MD SCCL directed the General Managers in all areas to take special measures to avoid stagnation of production in the surface mines during the rainy season. It was clarified that appropriate plans should be made to achieve coal production without reducing to 2 lakh tonnes per day in these three months.

He made several suggestions in a review meeting held through video conference with GMs of all areas at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday. CMD Sridhar stated that the last year’s record heavy rains resulted in the lowest coal production in the second quarter.

Singareni achieved the goals in the first quarter

In the first quarter of this financial year i.e. from April to June, Singareni Company has achieved its set targets. The target of coal production for this period was set as 167 lakh tonnes but it was exceeded and the production of 171 lakh tonnes was achieved and it was ahead with 102%.

The target of coal shipment was 166 lakh tonnes, which was exceeded and 180 lakh tonnes of coal was transported, registering a growth of 9 percent. The target of overburden removal was 117.6 lakh cubic meters and it was ahead by achieving 118.3 lakh cubic metres.

Singareni recorded a growth of 1.09 percent in coal production, 4.47 percent growth in coal transportation and 8.91 percent growth in overburden removal in the first quarter compared to the same period last year. With this trend, the company’s chairman and MD Mr. N. Sridhar ordered that this year too, to go ahead and achieve the specified targets and exceed the annual production target of 750 lakh tonnes.

Prasad, Advisor (Forestry) Mr. Surendra Pandey were present in this meeting. Executive Director (Coal Momentum) Mr. J. Alvin, General Manager (Coordination) Mr. M. Suresh, General Manager (Marketing) Mr. K. Suryanarayana, General Manager (CPP) Mr. Jakkam Ramesh, General Manager (Material Procurement) Mr. Mallela Subbarao, general managers from all areas, general managers from corporate and various departments participated in the video conference.
