Tamil Nadu: R Shankar Narayan takes over as CGM, NABARD
Shri R Shankar Narayan has taken over as the Chief General Manager of NABARD for Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry with effect from 01 July 2023.
Hailing from Hyderabad, Shri Shankar Narayan has 35 years of experience in Development Banking. He is a Post Graduate in Commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad and also a Chartered Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.
He started his service in NABARD from Kerala and served in various capacities in NABARD in different States viz Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
He has handled diversified portfolios in NABARD such as FPOs, Farm and Off Farm Development, Bank Supervision, Rural Infrastructure, Refinance, Institutional Development of Cooperatives among other.
He has also served as a District Development Manager of NABARD, Madurai and pioneered several initiatives in the district during the tenure for development of SungudiSarees, FPOs, Micro Enterprises, Watersheds etc.
During his tenure in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry, Shri Shankar Narayan hopes to focus on rural infrastructure, FPOs, Computerisation of Cooperatives and scaling up of Agricultural Credit for holistic development.
