Srinagar: All set for upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra
In Jammu and Kashmir, preparations for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra have been finalized. Both security and the civil administrations have given a nod to the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage to the 3888-meter-high Cave Shrine.
All line departments and the concerned district administrations are working with complete synergy with Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) for providing the best possible facilities and support to the Yatris.
The first batch of pilgrims has arrived at Amarnath Yatri Niwas Base Camp in Jammu. A large number of pilgrims reached the Yatri Niwas Base Camp in Jammu today, ahead of the commencement of the annual Amarnath Yatra on Saturday. The 62-day yatra, which commences on July 1, will culminate on August 31.
Upgraded lodging facilities, enhanced communication channels, and an increased number of Langers besides elaborate medical facilities have been put in place. Yatra tracks have been upgraded and safety railings have also been installed on all vulnerable stretches. Drones will be deployed and CCTvs have been installed along the Yatra route to keep continuous surveillance.
Welcoming the devotees, SASB, CEO Dr. M K Bhandari, said that elaborate arrangements have been put in place by the Board in collaboration with the JK administration so that the visiting Yatris undertake a hassle-free pilgrimage.
