Piyush Goyal highlights India’s pioneering efforts in sustainable textiles, promoting circular economy

Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal has highlighted India’s pioneering efforts in sustainable textiles and promoting a circular economy.

Speaking at the 69th India International Garment Fair (IIGF) in Greater Noida yesterday, the Minister commended the Indian textile industry for its innovative and attractive products.

Mr. Goyal also discussed the establishment of Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks across seven states, aimed at boosting India’s textile sector.

He said, the cluster-based approach of manufacturing in these parks will reduce logistic costs and ensure the production of high-quality goods with appropriate testing facilities.
