Sarbananda Sonowal review of port-related Sagarmala projects in Mumbai
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal held a joint review meeting with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis with respect to various projects under the Sagarmala project.
During the meeting held in Mumbai yesterday, Mr. Sonowal sought immediate attention to ensure speedy completion of projects in order to foster economic growth and enhance maritime infrastructure.
Maharashtra has completed nine projects worth 279 crore rupees under Sagarmala, while 18 others worth 777 crore rupees are currently being implemented.
Mr. Sonowal also reviewed the progress of Vadhavan Port, which is being developed with an aim to boost Mumbai’s cargo capacity.
He also discussed setting-up of Maharashtra Coastal Pavilion at the National Maritime Heritage Complex as it will allow the Maharashtra Government to showcase their rich maritime heritage.
