Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot conducts aerial survey of cyclone Biporjoy affected areas
Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by cyclone Biporjoy in Barmer and Jalore districts on Tuesday. He did an aerial survey of Chohtan in Barmer, Sanchore in Jalore and Abu Road in Sirohi.
He interacted with the people of the affected areas. Interacting with the media, Mr. Gehlot said that many houses, animals and school buildings have been damaged. Six persons have died in the incidents due to heavy rains.
Along with the army, 17 teams of SDRF and 8 teams of NDRF are engaged in relief and rescue operations. The state government has instructed the officials to conduct a survey of the damages in the affected areas.
According to the primary assessment, about nine thousand houses, more than 250 school buildings have been damaged. Power supply has been affected in many villages and towns due to the uprooting of more than 10,000 electric poles and transformers.
The district administrations have been directed to restore power supply in the villages, repair roads and help the affected families.
NDRF, SDRF carry out rescue operations in flood-affected in Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot conducted aerial survey of the Biparjoy-affected areas of Barmer and Jalore districts today. Mr Gehlot visited Chauhtan in Barmer to review the situation and met the affected people.
He also visited various places including Sanchore in Jalore district to take first-hand information. Mr. Gehlot took a review meeting yesterday at his residence regarding the damages caused due to the impact of Biporjoy.
The Chief Minister issued instructions for conducting relief work in collaboration with the Air Force and the Army.
Due to the impact of Biporjoy, 192 millimeters of rain has been received in Barmer district, 419 in Jalore, 464 in Sirohi and 318 millimeters of rain has been received in Pali district.
There has been some relief since the rain stopped yesterday. But hundreds of villages and towns are still submerged, many houses have collapsed and power supply has been affected.
17 teams of SDRF and 8 teams of NDRF are continuously engaged in rescue and relief work in the affected areas. Two columns of the Army have been deployed at affected areas.
