International Yoga Day: Mass yoga sessions to be held tomorrow at 51 archaeological sites of Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, the 9th International Yoga Day on 21st June, mass yoga sessions will be held at 51 archaeological sites of the state.

The main program will be held at the Garrison Ground in Jabalpur.  Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will be the chief guest at the national function to be held here in Jabalpur.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will address the gathering on the ninth International Day of Yoga in Jabalpur.  Later,  Vice President will also lead a mass yoga demonstration.  

This year the theme of International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.  

The purpose of yoga at archaeological sites is to make the general public aware of the importance of yoga as well as the history of archaeological sites.
 
The 51 sites of archaeological importance in the state include the temple group of Bateshwar, Man Singh Mahal of Gwalior, Kandariya Temple of Khajuraho, Jahangir Palace of Orchha, Mahakal Temple Complex of Ujjain and Jahaz Mahal of Mandu.  

Yoga activities are also being organized on a large scale in the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal by the Central Bureau of Communications. 

VP Jagdeep Dhankhar to be Chief Guest at International Day of Yoga 2023 celebrations in Jabalpur

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the Chief Guest at the International Day of Yoga IDY 2023 celebrations in Jabalpur on Wednesday. He will address the gathering and later lead the mass yoga demonstration at the venue. The motto for IDY 2023 is “Yoga for ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’”.
 
It has been nine years since the United Nations recognized June 21 as the International Day of Yoga through a resolution in 2014. While the global celebration of IDY 2023 will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the UN Headquarters in New York, the National celebration of IDY 2023 will be led by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
 
Mr Dhankhar will reach Jabalpur tomorrow, where he along with his wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar will offer prayers and attend the Aarti of Narmada ji at Gwarighat.
 
Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal and other dignitaries are expected to be present at the IDY 2023 event in Jabalpur.
